01 About

Raptor Intelligence is one person

Simon Walmsley, in Brisbane, working with businesses across Australia. He does the strategy, the build and the delivery. Every engagement is with him directly.

That is the offer and the limit in one sentence. Capacity is real and finite, so we would rather scope tight and deliver than over-promise.

Nearly thirty years in financial services and technology. Seven of them advising clients directly as a financial planner, and thirteen at Iress, the financial technology company, moving from account management through team leadership to Head of Customer Success.

Which is a long way of saying: the years were spent sitting with business owners while they explained how their business actually worked, then being accountable for whether the technology we put in front of them made any difference. That is the same job. Only the tools have changed.

AI projects rarely fail on the technology. They fail because nobody understood the business well enough to build the right thing.

That is the whole reason this business leads with a working session and a foundation document instead of a build. Most AI work that disappoints was technically fine. It solved a problem the business didn't really have, in a way that didn't fit how the work gets done. Understanding the business isn't the preamble to the build. It is most of the build.

The other half of the job is knowing when to stop. Plenty of consultants are paid to add tools. Here, every live automation gets checked each cycle against what it costs, whether it still works, and whether it is still worth having. Anything that fails gets deleted, not left running on inertia.

02 Track

Where the experience comes from

None of this is a credential in AI. It is time spent with businesses, their systems, and the people who have to use them, which turns out to be the hard part.

03 Record

What we have, and what we don't

Raptor Intelligence started in April 2026. The body of work is genuinely early, so here it is both ways rather than only the flattering half. If a competitor's About page has glowing numbers and no way to check them, that is worth noticing.

On the record

  • An "Optimising AI" session delivered solo to roughly 62 staff across sales, property management and head office at a Brisbane real estate group, April 2026.
  • Paying clients engaged, including an NDIS startup whose first phase was accepted and delivered.
  • A registered Australian business with its own design system, a published method, and repeatable audit instruments including SEO and WCAG 2.2 accessibility reviews.
  • Every foundation document written in a portable, open format the client keeps.

Not yet

  • No published testimonials. There will be, once clients have finished work worth quoting them on.
  • No client logos on this site. None have been cleared for use, so none are shown.
  • No before-and-after metrics from a completed build. The honest ones take a few months to earn.
  • No case studies, for the same reason.

04 Boundaries

What this isn't

Saying no to the wrong work early is most of what keeps a one-person business good at the right work.

  • 01Not an AI audit service that crawls through your business on day one, before it has earned the access.
  • 02Not a course or a community. Nothing here is sold by the seat.
  • 03Not a generalist freelancer, and not a six-month dev shop.
  • 04Never AI built to replace your people. That is a hard line, not a positioning statement.
  • 05Not your AI host. You own the accounts, the configuration and the data, in your own name.

Talk to Simon directly

There is nobody to get past. Thirty minutes, free, and if AI isn't the answer for your business yet, you'll hear that instead of a proposal.
